The Western Balkans is a region full of potential, and as economies evolve, so do the conversations about investment. To better understand the focus on investment in public discourse, we conducted a media analysis to see just how frequently the keyword "investment" appears in news content across media outlets in September.

What We Did:

We tracked media news from various sources across all Western Balkan countries.

Using data from Analytics.live, we analyzed the occurrence of the keyword "investment" in comparison to other news.

The goal?

To measure how much attention by media is being given to investments.

What Does This Mean?

This may suggest that while investment is crucial for economic growth, other issues are currently driving the news cycle in the Western Balkans—be it politics, social developments, or international relations. However, the focus on investment could grow as the region continues to attract more attention from global investors and local initiatives.

According to the report, the term 'Investment' was most frequently mentioned in Montenegro during September, making up 5.1% of news coverage, followed by Albania at 4.4%. Both Montenegro and Albania lead in this category, largely due to their strong tourism sectors, which attract significant investment interest. North Macedonia and Kosovo followed with 3.9%, Bosnia & Herzegovina at 2.9%, and Serbia at 2.5%.
